“Creativity requires courage and so does change.”
This week, our school hall was not just a place of learning, but a studio of solidarity. In observance of the global 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, we hosted a dynamic Inter-School Art Workshop, bringing students together to learn, collaborate, and create.
From November 25th (International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women) to December 10th (Human Rights Day), the world calls for an end to violence against women and girls. Our students answered that call not with silence, but with colors, brushes, and bold ideas.
Hands-On for Human Rights
Unlike a standard exhibition where the work is already done, this workshop was about the process. Students from different schools sat side-by-side, breaking down barriers and brainstorming how to visually represent complex themes like equality, respect, and safety.
The atmosphere was electric. Guided by Suraj Sir, participants explored how art can be used as a tool for advocacy. They translated their thoughts on the 16 Days Campaign into powerful visual narratives,
We also thank all the participating schools for their vital role in bringing these children together. Their collaboration highlights that the fight against gender-based violence is a shared responsibility that goes beyond the walls of any single institution.
As the 16 Days of Activism continues until December 10th, we hope the conversations started in this workshop continue in classrooms and homes.
