Ankit Sunar from Kopila Valley School Selected for Pre-National Round of Nepal Economics Olympiad 2026

Surkhet, Nepal — Ankit Sunar, a student of Kopila Valley School, Surkhet, has been successfully selected from the Regional Round of the Elite CA presents 7th Nepal Economics Olympiad (NEO) 2026, organized by the Young Economists Society Nepal (YES Nepal).
According to the official results announced on January 2, 2026, the Regional Round of NEO 2026 was conducted on December 27, 2025, witnessing strong nationwide participation. A total of 1,041 students from 191 institutions appeared in the regional examination across 14 centers throughout the country, out of 2,131 registered participants.
Following a rigorous merit-based evaluation, 310 students from 76 schools were selected to advance to the newly introduced Pre-National Mentorship and Evaluation Phase. Among these selected students is Ankit Sunar, marking a notable achievement for both the student and Kopila Valley School.
The Pre-National Round, scheduled from January 7 to February 7, 2026, will include intensive mentorship sessions and research-based assignments aimed at bridging theoretical knowledge with real-world economic applications. Performance during this phase will determine the final qualifiers for the National Round, which will be held from February 18 to February 20, 2026, at Kathmandu College of Management, Gwarko, Lalitpur.
YES Nepal has stated that top performers from the National Round will earn the opportunity to represent Nepal in various prestigious international platforms, including the Asia Economics Convention in Japan, International Economics Olympiad (IEO) in China, and other global competitions scheduled throughout 2026.
Kopila Valley School has extended its congratulations to Ankit Sunar for this accomplishment and wishes him continued success in the upcoming phases of the Olympiad.
